MacKay Sposito is seeking 2-3 full time Electrical Transmission Line Construction Inspector to join the team.  This position performs physical on-site observation, documentation, and inspection of electrical transmission line and fiber optic projects to assess and ensure compliance with applicable contract plans, specifications, codes and regulations.  This position also requires communication of project information to clients, the general public, regulatory agencies, and other agencies, peers, and managers routinely.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate brand personality throughout delivery of services.  This will be for various locations throughout CA, MT, OR & WA.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with the project team including the owner, construction contractor, design team, and project stakeholders.

  • Requires demonstrated success in working independently to meet deadlines, act in an Owner’s Representative role, and execute a wide range of inspection activities reliably and independently.
  • Requires ability to maintain composure while under pressure and remain flexible despite interruptions or changes.


  • Three years of work experience in electrical transmission line and/or fiber optic construction inspection or five years of applicable trade experience as a lineman is preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of electrical transmission and/or overhead fiber optic systems including steel towers, wood poles, foundations, grounding, stringing, etc.
  • Must have proficiency in the following key areas:  Word processing, spreadsheet and email software, and higher math (trigonometry and geometry).
  • Must be able to walk, lift, carry, stoop, bend, twist and work in the outdoors on uneven surfaces routinely. Typical work day may include exposure to weather extremes and rough or uneven terrain.
  • Current driver’s license and good driving record required. Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles required.
  • Must have current First Aid/CPR card or obtain prior to employment.
  • Must have proficiency in the following key areas:  Word processing, spreadsheet and email software; and higher math (trigonometry and geometry).
  • Climbing certification preferred.
